Here's my attempt at coloring. I used some gradient map filters cuz it helps to retain the pencil's textures. There still isn't a background because I couldn't figure one out, so if the space bothers anybody as much as it bothers me than I apologize. Suggestions are welcome though.
This is a very unique work and the idea behind converting Cloud to a samurai is what made it exciting. You're pretty imaginative, and not only that, you can perfectly translate your ideas through art. Another good thing about this is that you didn't stick to the original ('cause that would make it boring), yet Cloud's distinctive features are still there, and done well: his sword was given a very attractive twist, it looks like a very attractive katana, but you still know it's the Buster Sword. His hair was a bit flattened but you still know it's his spiky "chocobo" hair. The clothes really suit him. I like how you incorporated the armor and the shoulder guard. That robe (or kimono, now that he's a samurai) reminds me so much of his costume in Advent Children. And the way that you made his face a bit more realistic was perfect. The detail and the color scheme you used is excellent. His expression and posture was also a very great contributing factor; it tells and reminds the viewer a lot about Cloud's personality and character.
